| How does the SPCA benefit our community? |
| - The SPCA serves an important role in our
community. Our mission states that we aim to unite the property
owners of the area, encourage improvements and community interests, and
to promote social interests. The SPCA is a "non-profit"
organization that is run entirely by volunteers who are interested in
making our community better. - More practically, we are involved with a variety of things in our neighborhood 1. Act as a liaison to Alderman Laurino. We meet with her regularly and bring all relevant issues raised by residents in our neighborhood to her attention. ALL of your issues that you made aware to the SPCA earlier this year were followed up on. 2. Help keep the neighborhood informed about current issues facing our area. (For example, please see the notes from the SPCA General Meeting on Sept. 19. 2006) 3. Help organize neighborhood events and (with this new website) help publicize events in our neighborhood, and even on YOUR block! SPCA has memberships in the following organizations: |
